Busy Life

I'm afraid I have neglected the Little Indigo Blog yet again!  Life is busy and I cannot believe we are almost half way through the year!  So a little update on what's new:

From a personal point of view, my two boys have turned 5 and 3, repectively.  And so I have been busy with cake making and family visits.  I still can't believe my boys are so grown up.  My eldest is off to school next year and can practically use a computer better than me!  My youngest is out of nappies and is becoming a little individual (a very funny one!), not sure where he gets that from...

My little man, happiest when he is all dressed up :-)

And I have also started to work 4 nights a week on a regular basis, so it has been challenging trying to juggle paid work, Little Indigo and looking after my boys full time.  So life is a little chaotic, but I like to be busy, and I know that most working mums are in exactly the same situation :-)

And where Little Indigo is concerned, I have been spending a lot time pondering about what it is that I am able to offer that is "unique and different"?  What is my point of difference?  The big questions!!  I read two fantastic Blog posts yesterday by Madeleine from Made by Mosey and Penny from Pocket Carnival and after that I felt much better about things.  I learnt that everyone can feel a little stuck sometimes (and that's ok!) :-)

And now onto some new product lines that I have introduced to the Little Indigo website in recent weeks... I fell in love as soon as I spotted these gorgeous handmade creations by Mahlimae and feel that her items are a perfect fit for Little Indigo:

Green "Secret Keeper"

Green "Felt Hanging Birds"

And new prints by Missy Minzy have been added as well, which I love!

"Hungry Ducks"

Until next time!

6 Months Old

It has been such a long time since I have written a Blog Post!  But finally I am getting a chance!  It is so nice to write when the house is absolutely quiet (the boys are still asleep).

A lot has happened in the last few weeks.  I have been busy with work (Little Indigo and my other job), busy with the boys, attended my first Mathilda's Market as a retailer and my little business turned 6 months old!!  I have to say that I am very proud of my little shop, but I can be somewhat impatient at times, so I have so many ideas for Little Indigo swirling around in my head! One of the best things about the business is having so many repeat customers, I absolutely love this! It is so nice to know that other people genuinely like the new products that I add to the store :-)

Winter has set in early in Melbourne this year, so I will leave you with some of my favourite picks for Winter.  I am also very excited about a new range of handmade clothing that will be arriving at Little Indigo shortly.  One of my favourite labels!  Tried and tested and just my style!  Stay tuned....

Happenings

I am grabbing a quick 10 minutes while my boys are quiet (it doesn't happen often!) to fill you in on some of the recent happenings at Little Indigo.  On the home front, my boys have been sick for the last two weeks, and so it has been a little bit of a juggling act recently!  I have uploaded lots of new products onto the Little Indigo website, but there are still many more to come!

I have also only recently found out that Little Indigo has been accepted into Mathilda's Market!! Yay!  I am very excited, I love Mathilda's!  So I will be setting up my little shop in just over a week at Malvern Town Hall in Melbourne.  I am looking foward to finally meeting some of my lovely suppliers in person (as several will also be exhibiting) and also checking out some of the gorgeous products that will be on display.  Again I am nervous, but I think it is good to be a little nervous :-)

This week I received my first order of Mozi Mini and I was not dissappointed!  Everything is gorgeous!  I have been a fan of Mozi for sometime and love to have a browse through the Hampton Store in Melbourne, so I was very excited to see that they were establishing a range just for "little ones".  All of the products are beautifully packaged in Gift Boxes and so make a perfect present for a new Mum or for a Baby Shower. Below is a selection of some of the gorgeous product range, all available on the Little Indigo website:

I have also just added a new range of Printspace Prints - all gorgeous as usual!  I will also be adding some personalised Printspace Prints very soon.  Here are some of my favourites:

Keep an eye on the Little Indigo website for other new products that will be listed in the coming week.  And can you believe it....Little Indigo will be 6 months also on the 8th May!!  I can't believe it!!  There will be Birthday Celebrations...stay tuned!

Easter Break

So far I am having a lovely Easter Break.  A few days off from my second job, eating a ton of chocolate and generally relaxing.  My boys had a great day yesterday and were very excited about the visit from the Easter Bunny.

Thanks Mini Envy for the fab Easter Sacks!

Sunday was spent relaxing, watching the boys play, browsing through my Mother-in-law's enormous "Notebook" Magazine collection and playing with my new camera.

Playing at Grandma and Grandad's house

Loving my new toy!

A rare pic of my eldest son!  (He hates getting his photo taken - just like mum!)

Tully :)

On the Little Indigo front, I have been slowly but surely uploading lots of new products to the website and I have also just updated the SALE section - lots of great Summer Bargains!  More new products will continue to be added over the coming week :)

My Week

Well, it has been a hugely busy time for me in the last couple of weeks!  Little Indigo exhibited at the Melbourne Baby & Toddler Show over the weekend, and although the planning and preparation was a little stressful at times, I had a great time.  I received some fantastic feedback about my little store and met some of my customers and suppliers in person, which was great!  And the first purchase........one of the very cute Plushka owls. I also want to say a big thank you to all my helpers over the weekend and all of my suppliers, everyone has been so supportive :)

Most of you have already seen some of the pics on FB, but here it is again...a pic of my stand.

There were so many great stands, I particularly loved the gorgeous Lark exhibit.  All in all it was a great learning experience for me and you may see Little Indigo back again next year ;-)

It is going to be another busy couple of weeks while I start uploading all of our Winter Stock onto the website.  Some of the new arrivals are pictured below (the gorgeous pics are courtesy of the very clever Jen Mc Cue Photography):

Button Design Winter Cape

Button Design Grey Wool Vest

Zoe Smock Top

Button Design Winter Pinafore

And stay tuned, because there will be a huge amount of SALE items available soon.

Hoot Hoot!

I was very excited to upload our new collection of Plushka baby owls to the Little Indigo store.  They are so cute!  Made from beautiful soft felt and trimmed with gorgeous cotton fabrics (which are exclusive to the Little Indigo store).  Which one is your favourite?

I LOVE them all!! If you would love to see these sweet little owls in person make sure you head along to the Melbourne Baby & Toddler Show next Friday 8th, 9th or 10th.  Little Indigo will be at stand 313 and I would love for people to stop by and say hello.  It is my very first Show, so I am just a tad nervous!!  But I am looking forward to showcasing many of the beautiful creations available on the Little Indigo store, plus some new labels and designs!
